Molecular biology facility for translational research
The facility was created in 2018 in response to the rapid growth of next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies, which have transformed biology and medicine by enabling fast and affordable genome analysis. NGS provides new insights into genomic and transcriptomic variability, but also generates large and complex datasets that require advanced bioinformatics and biostatistics expertise. To support these needs, molecular biology equipment has been installed at both the UFR SMBH and HUPSSD hospital site, covering analyses from genes to transcription (high-throughput sequencers, thermocyclers, digital PCR, etc.). The platform operates with multidisciplinary experts, including scientists, biologists, and physicians from various laboratories and research units within SMBH (USPN).
