Lilia BANAOUAS is a first-year Master’s student in Biology and Health, specializing in Immunity, Infection, and Immunotherapy. Driven by a deep interest in immune mechanisms, she chose this field to explore how molecular dysfunctions drive complex diseases.

She is currently completing her internship under the supervision of Kevin Saitoski, focusing on the role of lipoprotein receptors and the impact of the PCSK9 protein in Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL). For Lilia, this project is a unique opportunity to dive into tumor metabolism and investigate new frontiers in immunotherapy.

Lilia is known for being hardworking, persistent, and highly organized. She doesn’t just scratch the surface of a topic; she is determined to fully grasp every biological process she studies. Methodical and proactive, she enjoys taking the initiative to learn new techniques and solve problems independently to reach her research goals.

She is thrilled to be part of this team and views this internship as the perfect environment to apply her academic background to real-world medical research. Lilia is eager to contribute to Kevin Saitoski’s projects and help advance the current understanding of CLL.
